The Research On WebQuest Design And Implementation

A WebQuest is an independent and researchful instruction activity which is mission-oriented and web-based. With the development of Internet, WebQuest is widely used in teaching education. In order to make full use of WebQuest, teaching staff in our country have been dedicated to learning and study of WebQuest for a long time. They have found some problems in the WebQuest practice, such as lacking systematic nature and impracticable. Therefore, we should do deep study in WebQuest as follows, how to choose a subject of WebQuest; how to design every modules in WebQuest, and so on. In this way, we will find the best and most suitable WebQuest for our teaching and learning. On the base of full understanding of the WebQuest theory, I consulted some principles about instructional design, and analysed every WebQuest modules in some cases. Meanwhile, I tried to combine the WebQuest theory with the practice.The goal of this study is to give some design suggestions and relate the WebQuest theory with the practice, as well as doing some help for our K-12teachers to implement their WebQuest. The main research method in this study is action research.At first, I analyzed the definitions, subjects, basical structure and writing policy of WebQuest, so that I can understand WebQuest completely. And then, according to analyzing some typical WebQuest cases, I expounded some problems about design and implementing WebQuest, and I also checked their reasons. At last, I put forward some new idea about WebQuest instructional design. At the same time, I designed and implemented a WebQuest "Making Gifts for Mother's Day". In this WebQuest practice, I proved my new WebQuest ideas were feasible.
