Abstract: With the improvement of primary and high school informationinfrastructure, the implement of the "Interconnection of Schools" project and theimplement of "the new curriculum reform" policy, Constructivism, informationtechnology and integrated curriculum are gradually move from theory to practice.Learning advanced informational instruction mode from foreign and creating thelearning environment to promote the development of the students, become hot spot ofresearch in the field of education technology. WebQuest is a web-based, teacher'sguidance,inquiry-orientated instruction mode, which embodying the idea of integratingtechnology into curriculum, fostering of the spirit of innovation and capacity topractice,has great reference value of changing the teacher-centered relationship exist inour country for a long time.Presently, the domestic and foreign has achieved a certain amount of study resultsabout research and practice of WebQuest,However, there are still a lot of problems.There are some conspicuous problems:Not properly reflect the teaching philosophy ofdeveloping the students senior thinking ability and the dominant position of teacherduring the instruction design of WebQuest;Lack the research and design of supportSystem which WebQuest teaching need.The success or failure of WebQuest teachingdetermines on these issues can be resolved or not.To analyze the Moodle open oource system through the design principles ofWebQuest learning environment and its own characteristics, we have a conclusion thatit is an ideal choice of choose Moodle open source system as WebQuest teachingsupport system.From this view, it has undertaken important significance to contribute primary andsecondary school teachers to develop WebQuest teaching, to research about a set ofdetailed, the good operational of instructional design process based on WebQuestinstruction mode and design WebQuest teaching case based on Moodle open sourcesystem.This research is divided into the following sections: In the first part, discussed the background, contents and the contribution ofresearch.In the second part, definition the WebQuest, to analyze about composition,classification and design principles,as well as to explore the theoretical basis ofWebQuest. This is a great help for clarification on some vague understanding ofWebQuest.In the third part, to analyze the reasons of choose Moodle open source system asWebQuest teaching support system at first,then analysis about the design theory,function and installation of Moodle open source system.In the fourth part, to bring up an systematical and exercisable the instructionaldesign process of WebQuest, and analyze detailed its various steps.In the fifth part, use the contents of《Information Technology》which is used inordinary high school as the theme of inquiry design a WebQuest teaching case based onthe Moodle open source system.In the last part, the author provides the innovation of the present research andindicates the limitation of the present research.,In addition, the author also and thefuture research direction as well.
