With the development of information technology, people hope that they can communicate with anyone at anytime.WLAN is the key technology of mobile network, which is the data communication system that can apply the connection of PC to PC and point to point. The primary function of RF power amplifier is to amplify the RF singal with high efficiency. It is widely used in diversified radio transmitters. The essential of amplifying singal is to transform DC power into high frequency power. The thesis introduces the design of a 5-GHz CMOS power amplifier based on a 0.18um CMOS technology for IEEE 802.11a Wireless LAN Systems.Simulation results, die micrograph ,the scenario for bonding and test results are provided. It is implemented in three-stage differential pair.At a supply voltage of 3.3v, its gain is 27.3dB,Pin,1dB=-7dBm, the maximum output power is 19.3dBm and S11=-30dB. It works steadily and can be used in IEEE 802.11a Wireless LAN systems.
