| With the development of the Internet technology, On-line Education as a most recent educations means and methods have exerted great influence on the traditional educational mode. It has become one of the features of the modern education, represented one of the aspects of education revolution and facilitated the development of education.The study of on-line test system emerged from the need of information-based modern education and higher education; its purpose is to make good use of the software and hardware resources, as well as the internet resources to take the tests and obtain their results much more rapidly than was possible when we tested manually in the past.On-line education and test may realize the separation of teaching and testing, automatic management of assessment and make better use of the software and hardware resources of the local (campus) network to provide better service for teaching, research and management. On-line test system is the extension of the traditional tests by employing the worldwide Internet and Web database; it provides tests for learners or users at any time and at any place as long as one has a computer connected to the Internet and also simplifies the procedures of the traditional tests.The development of Internet technology has caused the means and carriers of the test to change dramatically, for the characteristics of the Internet and the computing power of the computer have made the tests break through the limitations of time and space of the traditional tests. Internet-based test system is becoming the focus of the study because of its incomparable advantages compared with the traditional ones. By using Internet as a platform, this essay studies the design and realization of the web-based test system, and of the IT ability testing system for the computer majors. This system adopts B/S modes, the server employing ASP technology to create the dynamic pages and to access the database and the background database applying the SQL Server 2000. This system consists of automatic test-making and test-marking, results consulting and marking supervising etc.The essay focuses on the designs of the user registering module, item-base module and test managing module. Besides, the background of developing this system, the considerations and project of designing the system are taken into account as well. Finally, the essay deals with the security control and fault tolerance of the on-line test system. Here, the security of the system was embodied by the security of the server IIS and of the testing system. The security of the server can secure the running the testing system and the secrecy of the program code to prevent visitors destroying or damaging the testing system illegally. |
