Photoelectric sorter is an effective device which can be used in detection and classification of grainy materials. Many benefits can be obtained through its application, such as the improvement of materials' quality, the increasing of the added-value as well as good economic and social benefit. Therefore, the study on the photoelectric sorter is of great importance and practical significance.The design in this paper focuses on the control system of the photoelectric sorter. The chief control system, touch screen system and electromagnetic vibration feeding system are designed based on the analysis of the working request and system structure. The chief control system is responsible for the management and control of the subsystems as well as the peripheral functions. The touch screen is employed for man-computer interaction. The adjustment of the material flux is realized by the electromagnetic vibration feeding control system.PIC16F877 singlechip is employed as the controller, and a piece of CPLD ispLSI1032 is used to expand logical circuits; by resorting to DS1620 digital temperature sensor, the working environment temperature of the system can be measured and monitored.nonvolatile SRAM DS1230 is utilized to design the exterior expansion storage circuit; the circuit which is responsible for the background board turning angles controlling, the circuit monitoring the switch and statement signals of the system are designed. The Proface touch screen of Ditigal Company is employed in the touch screen system, with which, users can set up the parameters and inspect the working status easily. The feeding control system is designed in the way of electromagnetic vibration. By the analysis of the electromagnetic vibration control theory, the relationship of the adjusting parameters and the feeding parameters of the feeder is established, according to which, the feeding control system based on AT89C51 MCU is designed, including the deigns of alternating current zero-passed detection circuits, five SCR trigger circuits and communication circuits. The communication circuits between PIC16F877 MCU and the touch screen as well as all subsystems is designed, at the same time, the RS-232 asynchronous serial communication between PIC16F877 MCU and the touch screen based on Memory-link protocol, and the three-wire synchronous serial communications between PIC16F877 MCU and each subsystem based on user-defined protocol are established; circuits used to monitor the switching and status signals of the system is designed as well.
