The technological and modern level of equipment industry determines the degree of entire national economy and modernization, visualization technology and equipment is a new utility technology and the most basic equipment of developing high-tech and advanced industries. Visualization technology is a typical and combinational electromechanical integration high technology of computer technology, automation and control technology, measurement technology, modern machinery manufacturing technology, microelectronics technology and information processing technology, and the basis to achieve the automation of the manufacturing process, and the core of flexible automated manufacturing system. Wood processing visualization technology develops from the technology in metal processing, is becoming to the most complicated and highest scientific technology in wood processing equipment. Thus, it is necessary to research and develop the application of visualization technology in order to promote our country's manufacturing industry of wood processing equipment.This paper introduces the design and implementation of visualization based on serial communication used in the control system of wood processing equipment. Visualization systems combined with a microprocessor, a LCD touch screen, a host computer and execution units achieve the functions of wood processing equipments. Using 65K color LCD touch-screen for the human-computer interaction, makes interface intuitive, and easy to operate. Visualization system of the high degree of automation, portability, anti-interference and cost performance ratio in the wood processing industry has a wide application prospects.In this paper, the visualization systems are used in a test-press, a wood-drying kiln and a non-destructive detector. Systems realize the monitoring of the upper and lower press platen temperature, the system pressure, the platen displacement, and the control of automatic process and the shows function about the real-time and historical hot press curve. AND they realize the selection of"LY / T 1068-92 Lumber Kiln Drying Process Specification"wood drying standard, or setting their own standards to control the automatic of drying process. Two benchmark of time or moisture content, and three controlling ways of dry bulb temperature, relative humidity or equilibrium moisture can be used. They also achieve the amplitude benchmark for non-destructive testing of wood, real-time stress wave signal acquisition, real-time and historical display of time functions and so on. The same test parameters and the process in visualization system can be repeated conveniently, and at the end of the experiment, test data can be upload to a host computer which could analyze and process through a soft system. Visualization system for its various advantages, replaces the expensive and mazy framework of host and guest computers, and removes the operation components such as computer, keyboard and mouse. The trend is to replace a variety of components in control equipments, including the button, knob, display instrument and status indicator lamp. It is easy to install and maintain, and is becoming to an important direction of development in the manufacturing industry of wood and other various types of material processing equipment in China.
