As the major hazards is the major factor of the heavy accidents, the government pays much attention to it. The society is developing very quickly, at the same time, a great deal of major hazards occur. The exploitation and research of major hazards management information system can help to prevent the catastrophe, assuring the safety of the workers, and has upper societal and economical benefits.Using the thought of systems engineering, the author makes a thorough research on the identification, evaluation, classification and measurement for the major hazards, and the exploitation of major hazards management information system. Firstly, classify the risk and harmful factors, and analyze the classification of major hazards. In order to prevent the occurrence of accidents, basing on the national standard, a standard for less major hazards is planed. Make a research on various methods of identification, analyze the advantages and disadvantages of every method, and establish the dynamic measurements, multilayer and grade measurements. Combining the computer techniques, make the major hazards management information system, and realize the following function in the computer map: know the mutual layout of the factories, understand the information of the major hazards and surroundings, and we can also edit the map and the information of the major hazards, realizing the showing the information of the major hazards at the real time. The system is utilized in Yankuang Group and the major hazards are identified completely. And proper and scientific measurements are made. We can supervise the major hazards visually and timely with the help of the major hazards management information system. The above measurements not only assure the safety, but also improve the profits of the factory. The application proves that the system is feasible, effective and scientific.
