With the popularization of network and rapid development of broadband in recent years, network multimedia technology is developing greatly which is highly strict with network band. Especially the development and application based on the streaming technology is becoming one hotspot. The traditional streaming systems mostly adopt the structure of C/S (Client/Server). However, it blocks the improvement of QoS on streaming because of the limited bandwidth resource and restricted performance of server. A peer-to-peer (P2P) model is ideal as a model to solve the server link bottleneck problem. P2P is included in the streaming service so as to directly decrease the load of servers and support more extensive publication of streaming media. At the same time, its application is promising largely. In this paper, the related technologies about streaming media and P2P network are introduced firstly. And the transmission scheduling of streaming media based on P2P is explained elaborately, the comparisons and analyses of several different protocol models are performed on the aspects of the protocol complexity, error resilience and reliability.Secondly, this paper designs and implements a P2P streaming live system which bases on Gossip protocol. The system tries to achieve a better trade-off, by leveraging the advances in both P2P and C/S. It can also support a great many of users to receive real-time streaming data. A data exchange based on data-driven model is implemented between peer nodes. The self-organization capacities of nodes can effectively reduce the load of severs. Accordingly, the network congestion is avoided and the QoS of streaming media live system is improved dramatically. Finally, this paper provides the test results and their analytical reports for this live streaming media system. A lot of experimental data shows that this...
