The printer at present is used extensively in many fields. Thus the higher request is put on the stylus printer quality and print speed which lies on the driving electric machinery of printer fast and placidly driving the movement of printer's pin and the fast startup and stop and exact orientation of the driving paper electric machinery. For the sake of fast improving on performance and developing new products of the stylus printer, the Printer Slewing Test System is needed to realize.This paper introduces the design and implementation of Printer Slewing Test System based on serial communication. Firstly, it simply explains the system requirement and research details. Secondly after it describes the software and hardware knowledge that are required in this research and development, the design of the system is proposed in detail in two parts. The principle and the structure of the system are described and the hardware structure of each module of the system is also introduced. Then the communication protocol and flow charts of the collection of the software are fully illustrated, and the software design and control flow are presented partly in terms of Upper and downer machine. Afterwards, the arithmetic implement and the display of image are analyzed with emphasis. Thirdly test results of hardware and software are reported, focusing on collection,communication,parse,arithmetic,image, etc. And it proves hardware feasible, software design meeting the demands of function.After a period of time of improvement, the system has been put to use in the development and test of stylus printer of one company.
