With the rapid development and application of high-power and high susceptibility electronic and electric products, special for modern military domain, communication system is getting more and more complicated and electromagnetic compatibility and electromagnetic interference are getting more and more important. This dissertation is focused on transient responses and interaction mechanism of the passive and active devices in communication system illuminated by external EMP or EMI, and is based on improved finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) and hybrid simulation of field-circuit to model and simulate. Its main content is following:1. At first, research background is introduced, including oversea and national research development of EMP and EMI, and introducing important and popular simulation methods in electromagnetic compatibility, such as frequency and time-domain methods, differential and integral methods, including their advantages and disadvantages, and also introducing oversea and national research development of them, so that these parts can make sure contents and methods in the dissertation more concretely.2. In chapter 2, FDTD method is introduced more detail based on the Maxwell equations, including its main equations and iterative theory. We give the several kinds of absorbing boundary conditions, and introduce the UPML (perfectly matched later) more details, and then, we introduce the excitation source technology, including several classic high-power pulses and incident equations. At last, we introduce stability and numerical dispersion of FDTD.3. In chapter 3, we introduce application technology of FDTD, including sub-grid algorithms of thin antennas, lumped elements models and feeding model of axial line of the antenna and so on, and provide more details of feeding model theory and equations and prove them to be right. Then we invest transient responses of several kinds of antennas illuminated by external EMP, special for different kinds of EMP and different incident and polar direction.4. In chapter 4, we analyze the transient responses of classic microwave devices, then we introduce the field-circuit method of microwave circuit lumped elements, including single port, double ports and several ports network and so on. And we also give the definitions of disturbed S-parameters and relative failure ratio; at last, we analyze the transient responses of filters, power divider and microwave circuits with diodes under external EMP or internal EMI.5. In chapter 5, we analyze the destructive responses of passive filters and active amplifiers based on the experiment, and introduce the theory, method, equipments and conclusion, these results will provide us the experiment data for failure analysis research of EMC/EMI effects.
