Pulse compression technique is widely used in modern radar systems. It has successfully solved the contradiction between the distance and resolution through emitting wide pulse and obtaining narrow pulse by using pulse compression method when receiving. With the fast development of digital signal processing technology, it provides the possibility of radar pulse compression processing's digitalization and software. In this dissertation, main control unit of three coordinate radar pulse compression system has been successfully designed by using powerful peripheral interface of ADI's fixed-point 16-bit digital signal processor ADSP-2191M and function expansion of complex programmable logic device (CPLD). The unit has also realized to control multiple pulse compression processing units and each of them can be completely commanded to finish the signal's collection, processing, transmission and report board fault status. Owing to the fast speed, powerful function and programmable capability, it can entirely meet the requirement of system design. The results are satisfactory and it has been used as product formally. The dissertation divides into six chapters totally. Chapter one introduces radar pulse compression technology and development of digital signal processing technology. Chapter two introduces the basic theories of radar signal. Chapter three recommend the digital pulse compression system's systematic plan and relevant serial port standard. Chapter four introduces the hardware design of main control unit in detail. Chapter five introduces the software design and serial port communication protocol. Chapter six analyses the whole system debugging and test result so as to finish product at last. The main content work of the thesis includes: 1,Based on ADSP-2191M chip, main control unit of radar pulse compression system has been studied and realized.
