Research-based learning mode for teaching in class is constructed which has the basement to be investigation of current teaching situation in normal university and of textbooks comparison of mobile communication published in China with those in foreign countries. Features in the curriculum of mobile communication teaching are discussed, which is connected to theories on cognition, constructivism and teaching mode. Investigation has been implemented on research-based learning for its importance, viewpoint, practice mode, strategy of guidance. In the teaching practice for students graded in 2002, meaningful activities with research-based learning mode have been operated. Based on theories and achievements of cognition and constructivism, properties of course teaching of mobile communication in specialty of electronics and information engineering are discussed. Associating with the results of the practice, a teaching mode in class for mobile communication course is proposed, which has its own construction, properties, function and strategy of application to be illustrated. With fundamentals of theoretic investigation and construction of mode, application of the teaching mode is carried out in teaching experiment. Comprehensive practice ability of students'and their consciousness of innovation are improved through the activities on research-based learning in specialty course teaching-learning process. As result of the teaching reform practice, we obtain a teaching-learning mode, which can provide certain facilitation for teaching-learning process of specialty in senior stage of normal universities or colleges.
