With the increase in bandwidth, the speed of the network has been greatly upgraded. And with the integration of GIS and Internet,WEBGIS based on B/S model has been enhanced by leaps and bounds.Meanwhile, because of its distinct advantages,the structure is gradually replacing the traditional GIS based on C/S model and becomes the mainstream of information technology in"location".WEBGIS,GPS positioning system and wireless communications systems are integrated together to strengthen the management,scheduling of passenger vehicles and the security in the transportation.That's why the vehicle monitoring information system based on GPS/GIS was developed.Based on the results of previous studies,this paper will analyse network topology of vehicle monitoring information system and design of the system architecture based on J2EE. Since the whole platform is a three-in-one network system, in every network,there are many options for the program, for instance,the means of communication chosen from the many forms of communication,choose a system with the characteristics of communication,is an important component for the successful development and application of the system to provide strong support.The client of monitoring center in the design and implementation, taking into account the cross-platform, easy to deploy, real-time, high performance,security,etc.JAVA APPLET technology choices,good maps and mobile networks,overcome a "thin" client mode performance shortcomings ability to provide clients with a user-friendly operability platform. Middleware be used asynchronous data transmission as a possible means of transmitting information to enhance the system performance. According to the idea of object-oriented programming is designed to achieve an independent means of communication, terminal equipment,pure JAVA control the whole system has a strong cross-platform features and scalability.Furthermore,in order to meet future large volume users visit and the overloading of existing communications servers,introduction of the cluster technology,and made a reference to the cluster configuration model.With GPS vehicle monitoring system technology's maturity and application, the system will be further improved, its use will be raised to a new height.
