Based On The Design And Development Of Upper Layer Software Of Gps / Gis / Gsm Vehicle Monitoring System

This paper is based on "The Vehicle Monitoring System of civicism administration bureau in Yantai". The Vehicle Monitoring System integrates Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), the technique of computer and modern data communication and realizes real-time position for vehicle. The system is composed of control center, GSM network and remote position units. The control center and the remote unit communicate with SMS.In this paper, the author firstly analyzes the development of the Vehicle Monitoring System, then introduces the technology of GPS, GSM and GIS. The design and development of the control center software based on Client/Server structure and used tools of Visual Basic 6.0, MapInfo6.0 and SQL Server 2000 are introduced at the end.
