Virtual Lab is playing a great role in improving students' applicationskills and in reducing the expense of education, so it is the developing trendin experimental teaching. In this paper, a new plan is put forward to designthe virtual lab aiming at Microcomputer Interface experimental course, and somecrucial technologies concerned are researched. Main work is as follows1.Through analyzing the features of Microcomputer Interface experimentacting as discrete event system and contrasting all kinds of simulation &modeling methods each other, the paper introduces UML modeling mechanism basedon Object-Oriented into system modeling and RUP into accomplishing systemdevelopment iteratively.2. Virtual Prototyping is so important during the course of Virtual Labdesigning that it is theoretically discussed in detail. Based on it, thewhole idea is obtained.3. With UML & some kinds of diagrams driven by Use Case such as class diagram,sequence diagram, Activity diagram and state diagram ,etc. , the system'sstatic structure and its dynamic behavior are described from some differentangles and levels, and gradually it becomes from function model to object model,and thus it makes preparations for programming.4. Based on OOA & OOD technologies, the classes included in system ,especially component class is analyzed particularly and Component library isdesigned, which is the important part of the experiment system.5. By researching on running mechanism of the experimental system, theObserver mode is adopted to transfer message among the components of the systemand its concrete usage is discussed in detail. It is a successful example andworthy of using for reference.6. Based on above analysis and design, the Microcomputer Interface VirtualLab system is accomplished by programming. It is of good performance inmaintenance and extension, so it can adapt itself to user's variety ofrequirements.
