The Study On The Functions Of Technological University Library In The Information Quality Education

Information Literacy has a long history, it has mentioned by an American named PaulO. Zurkowski for the first time .Information Literacy has different meanings at differentstages in abroad and in our country because of its dynamic concept. Through the comparisonsituation of information literacy among China and other developed countries, points out thegap among them, and sums up some experiences of American literacy education forimproving the development of information literacy education in China. For the purpose ofreflecting the present situation of Science and Engineering Universities students' informationliteracy in our country, the author give us an investigation by questionnaire on the students at4 universities ( Qingdao technological University;Science and technology University ofShen Yang;DaLian technological University and China University of Petroleum),and drewthe conclusion as the follows which analyzing the statistics in detail.1. Technological universities students' lack the initiative and enthusiasm to pursue theknowledge of information literacy. 2. The students in these universities are not capable ofutilizing the resources of information literacy, such as the way of searching by computer, etc. At last , according to the new progress of information literacy education in the currentconditions ,point out the new thoughts in order to improve it, such as the study of informationliteracy education online, and information literacy cooperation experience of onlineILI(information literacy instructions) which came from America and Hongkong for improvingthe development of information literacy education in China.
