A Study On The Innovation Of The Administration And Service Of The Libraries At Art Design Universities

During the 21st century, high technology, information, globalization, andknowledge-based economy bring a lot of challenges and opportunities. Highereducation has more important functions for countries' development. Librariesare one of the three main supports of universities. It is a main indicator ofuniversities' integrative strength to guarantee their research abilities andacademic levels.Under the background of the development of higher education anduniversities' libraries, this paper studied art universities' libraries as sampleand focused on following questions: How can universities' libraries adapt tothe requirements of higher educational reform and development, internetinformation and market economic environment? How can China learn fromrelevant advanced theories from the developed countries and promote theinnovation and development of the service and administration in China's artuniversities' libraries? This paper has some positive theoretical and practicalsignificance to systemic reform and development in art universities and fosterinnovative and creative art designers in China.This paper undertook research by way of reviewing literature,investigating, comparative study, qualitative and quantitative analyzing. Theliterature review and comparative analysis help us to study the relateddevelopment in China and other countries, including the administration andservice experience of the libraries in the developed countries. As for howlibraries at the art design universities help their universities to achieve theireducational goals, this paper has analyzed the characteristics of art libraries'resource and service, readers' requirement, studied some strategies to promotethe innovative development of libraries' administration and service. Finally,some important strategies and suggestions have been summarized: Attachinghigher importance to leadership in libraries, promoting the building oflibraries' digital resources, enhancing the cooperation between libraries andother units, implementing the strategies "developing libraries by humanresource development", prompting humanistic service, constantly buildinggood images of libraries, enlarging the libraries' social service, acceleratingthe establishment of related laws and regulations.
