Research On Education Resources Services Of Colleges And Universities Libraries In E-learning Environment

Along with the development of information technology, education changes much in many aspects. Every person who desires to learn can learn anytime, anywhere through Internet. Tradticnal learning mode is facing great challenge and transforming to learner-centered, explosive and cooperational learning. Such new learning mode is called e-learning, It is defined as learning with the aid of information and communications technology tools. These may include the Internet, intranets, computer-based technology, or interactive television. They may also include the use of e-technology to support traditional methods of learning, for example using electronic whiteboards or video conferencing. E-learning play a great role in education renovation.The core of e-learning emphasizes integrating information technology into course in order to create ideal learning environment, which include rich resources, communication channels, network infrastructure. Without the support of education resources, e-learning can't reach its goal.This dissertation introduced the environment of China e-higher education, analyzed the background of e-learning, and introduced current e-learning situation from three aspects such as network infrastructure, digital content and information literacy. In the e-leaming environment, university libraries are facing many challenges. It is essential that university libraries reform traditional services. What is the user's needs for education resource services provided by university library? So I designed three types of investigation forms in order to find the user's needs for education resources services. Based on investigation results, I summarized their common and indivudual needs.We investigated some university libraries via Internet, primarily concentrating on its education resources service in order to find their current defects according to theuser's needs. Based on the investigation, the fifth section designs the whole infrastructure of libraries' education resources service. In the last part, the dissertation analyzes the Sichuan University Library's current situation of its education resources service, and design its new education resources service according to user's needs in e-learning environment. The design includes establishing the whole new service idea, developing related education resources, enhancing current services for teaching and learning, exploring new services, etc al.
