H.264 video compression and network transmission technology is another key technology that appeared in the field of Multimedia information technology these years. How to use these kinds of compress tools of H.264 better? How to adjust the schemes of network transmission and error control mechanism to fit the requests of video transmission of different network? These problems are the highlights of this field.This thesis analyzed the study state of video coding standards and network video transmission, concluded and introduced international video coding standards MPEG and H.26X, thereinto, put the main emphasis on studying the key algorithms of H.264 which includes the whole structure, Intra-prediction, Inter-prediction, Transform and Quantisation, Deblockng Filter, Entropy Coding and so on. Also, based on theory analyse, this thesis did a lot of experiments from which gained some valuable data of H.264.As to the ways of network transmission, this thesis proposed a new approach for optimal mode selection which based on Internet: global R-D optimized mode selection. This new algorithm takes into account of behaviors of encoder, transmission channel and decoder synthetically, and adjusts coding ways of the encoder based on their instant characteristics. The experiment results show that new algorithm makes the performance of system to be the best.As to the problem of error control of video transmission, this thesis proposed a new error control scheme based on the Internet. This scheme includes some new Error Resilience mechanisms: Layered Coding with Unequal Error Protection and Error Retransmission of restricts retransmit times which directed mainly at the base layer data. This new retransmission mechanism only enforces a maximum number of retransmissions per frame, but do not constrain the number of retransmissions for each pocket. So, the sender can adjust the send times of each pocket in the same frame dynamically based on the current network status. The experiment results show that this method has improved the successful ratio of pocket retransmission, and saved the network resource.At last, this thesis designed a video transmission system. It integrates the network transmission scheme and error control mechanisms that mentioned before. This system operates well on the LAN of school, so it has some practical value. |
