With the development of information technology, compression coding technology for still image and video sequence is widely used in broadcast television, video surveillance and home entertainment. H.264|IS0 MPEG4 Part 10 of MPEG4 standard is a new generation video compression technology for low bit-rate visual communications, which was developed by Joint Video Team (JVT). JVT is made up of ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and ISO/IEC Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG). H.264 standard and its key technologies were analyzed. Demonstration program based-on H.264 by TCP/IP in LAN was implemented. At last, the dissertation gave an example of net video surveillance system.The details are studied as follows:Chapter one briefly introduced the general situation of video compression technology. The developing and the current situations of video compression were summarized. Some key technologies for net video surveillance system were set forth. At last, the main contents and general structure scheme of the dissertation were presented.Chapter two studied H.264 standard and its new technologies, the difference from traditional standard were summarized. A simulation experiment was done by H.264 standard's JM85 test model. The result was given, and its performance was analyzed.Chapter three set forth error resilience's general situations and its keystone. Now some error resilience technologies, which were often used, were summarized. Researched on new error resilience of H.264 standard, and analyzed its performance. Chapter four studied the H.264's codes model, and detailedly design for system software implemented demonstration program with two layers based-on H.264 by TCP/IP in LAN.Chapter five set forth a net video surveillance system's example with three layers.Chapter six is the final part of the paper, summed up the work of the dissertation and presents conclusion and prospect.
