Natural resource preservation has recently become a significant concern, and has motivated research and development efforts to assist in both conservation and management. Electricity usage in residential and commercial buildings represents a significant fraction of total energy expenditure. A key prerequisite for energy conservation is knowing when and where energy is being spent. However, in the current energy reporting devices only provide coarse grained information. Because of the urgency of energy issues and the shortcomings of the electricity energy metering system in the current, this paper presents a fine grained power auditing system based on the sensor networks.This platform includes energy auditing system and visualization monitoring system. The energy auditing system monitor each device real-time, and transfer the data collected after processing to the server periodically. This visualization monitoring system can provide a friendly user interface, which can display the data visually based on queries. This platform can provide detailed information about the total energy consumption in any period for each appliance and thus will become an efficient tool for future real-time pricing. At the same, some behavior model can be drawn from the collected data based on the proposed system, and then control the energy device intelligent.The system is verified by testing the energy consumption of typical electronic devices. The results show that the system is helpful to save energy and to improve energy utilization.
