The Application Of Reverse Engineering In Product Design And Mould Design

The reverse engineering is the technology refers to gain mathematical model of product ,and develops the similar advanced product,now it integrate with the cad/cam technology, and become a relatively independent research area. It greatly improves the preision,and gains the high quality,shortens the exploitation Period of the mould.it has the broad application prospect. The key technology which includes data acquiring,data dealing and CAD model restrution.The article reviewed the research and commercial software of reverse engineering in domestic and foreign,mailystudied the data acquiring,data dealing and CAD model restrution in reverse engineering, Completed the model reconstruction and mould manufacture based on reverse engineering. The main Research results are as follow:1,Data acquiring It introduced the all kinds of measuring method, and analysis it's Good and bad points. discussed the preparatory work of data acquiring, ande the way to choose measuring technique, explored measuring technique based on the CMM, and proposed the different processing mentality to the gathering different data;2,Data dealing In view of pretreatment method in the common data, introduced several processing method and the partial algorithms, have given the attention of the point cloud data dealing , and proposed the simple process of scanning data , explored the way of data dealing based on the Imageware;3,Model restrution Elaborated the method of curve surface reconstruction and curve surface light based on the NURBS , discussed the question of curve surface restructuring based on the different 4,metrical data explored the modelling method based on the UG software;4,According to the the characteristic of weire stripper, it completed the model reconstruction, the mould design and manufacture , which based on reverse engineering technology. Finished the data aquring of the hand of weire stripper with three coordinate measuring instrument ,Completed the data dealing with the Imageware software, which obtained the accurate data completely; finished the mould design and rapid prototyping with the UG software, completed mold's design and the manufacture based on its CAD model, and has obtained the satisfied product.The research indicated that it is one effective method,which finished the weire stripper with the reverse engineering technology ,andobtained the high product quality, saved the time of mould design , has the vital practical significance and the high application value.
