A Study On Design And CAD/CAM Application For Refrigerator Vacuum Forming Mould

The refrigerator vacuum forming mould is used as an import molding tool in refrigerator production. It's developed speed and design quality will directly affected the whole performance of the refrigerator, and even affect whether the product will be successful or not developed. At present, the design and manufacture of refrigerator vacuum forming mould in china, is mainly base on 2D CAD two drawing, manually controlled machining, assistant with NC machining. This will directly affect the production efficiency, as well as the mould accuracy and quantity. Based on the above reason, the paper will mainly study approach to design the key structure of refrigerator vacuum forming mould, detailed treatise that refrigerator vacuum forming mould, as well as the CAD/CAM application in mould development.At first, the paper introduces general design theory about refrigerator vacuum forming mould; and then discusses the structure features and structure design theory about refrigerator vacuum forming mould according to its practical design requirements. Secondly, the paper has also designed several core-pulling structures, especially the revolving core-pulling structure. Most of the designed structures have been successfully applied to the mould. The third, the 3D design and assembling technology based on UGII was investigated in this paper. At last, the paper studied the CAM application technologies, directly created 3D model, including the creation method of cutter location file directly from the 3D model, the NC post processing, etc. The method of generating user final feature lib used in refrigerator mould based on UG II was also discuss in this paper, several examples for lib creation was given as an illustration.The paper tends to provide assurance for improving the design quality and effect, and reducing the costs, and shortening the developing period during the course of designing refrigerator mould.
