In the course of informationization of modern manufacturing, CAX (CAD, CAM, CAE)technology has been applied by more and more mould enterprises, so there will be plenty ofelectronic data generated. How to manage this data effectively is a problem to mouldenterprises. In this case, PDM has been applied during mould enterprises. However, nowadaysthere isn’t a kind of perfect PDM system at home. In this task, the current situation of mouldenterprises has been studied, and a kind of PDM system for mould enterprises has beendeveloped based on the characters of mould enterprises in order to resolve the “island ofinformation” phenomenon and guarantee the security of data during the development ofmoulds. As a result, the knowledge and experience of engineers from mould enterprises canbe saved and continued, and the design and manufacture files of mould enterprises can becreated.The main content of this task:1, The frame structure and main function modules of Mould PDM have been studied.The graphics and documents management, user management, product management, projectmanagement, process management and other key problems of Mould PDM have been studied.2, The requirement analysis of mould enterprises has been worked out based on theresearch on mould enterprises.3, On request of demands of mould enterprise management, the users have been dividedinto different roles, and assigned different authorities to guarantee the security of system data.4, A kind of mode and method of Mould PDM implement have been present, and thebasic thinking and framework have been present for medium and small mould enterprises.5, Aiming at the characteristics of mould enterprises, a set of simple PDM has beendeveloped to implement the product data management of mould enterprises.
