The technology on hydrologic monitoring, which provides the main security for hydraulic project to operate safely and reliably, is an important basis of realization Water Resources and Hydrology. It also plays an important role in flood control, forecast and so on. To adapt current demands of hydrologic monitoring for intelligence and networking, and to overcome the difficulties and defaults nowadays existing in hydrologic monitoring, the design scheme of wireless hydrologic monitoring based on ZigBee technology is presented in this paper.According to the characteristics of monitoring environment and the actual demands of hydrologic monitoring system, this paper presents the overall design scheme of the system: collecting the hydrology data acquired by sensor terminal nodes to the network coordinator through ZigBee network; the network coordinator transmits the hydrology data to Monitoring and Control Center through GPRS; Monitoring and Control Center makes real-time regulation and control.The main task of this subject is to organize ZigBee measurement network to collect hydrology data. The network nodes in this measurement network include network coordinator nodes and sensor terminal nodes. The software and hardware of these two nodes are both analyzed and designed in this paper. These two nodes have the similar hardware structure, which consists of STM32F103ZET6 processor and CC2420 wireless transceiver module, and only the software is different. TheμC/OS-II operating system and ZigBee protocol stacks MpZBee are transplanted into the hardware of network coordinators to establish the software system, based on which, the development of Multi-task application on operating system including establishing network task, ZigBee data processing task, display task and so on, is mainly analyzed. The sensor terminal nodes, whose software design aims to develop data acquisition, routing algorithm realization, wireless communication and other applications, are whole nodes consisting of data acquisition and routing.Finally, this paper organizes a small ZigBee wireless network of star network topology to stimulate the networking realization of hydrologic monitoring system and to test the functions of this system. The results show that the design scheme of adopting ZigBee technology to build network for hydrology monitoring system is practical, and it can satisfy the demands of hydrologic monitoring environment and can satisfy the intelligent and networked parameter measurement, and it also has the advantages of high reliability, high accuracy, low-power consumption and so on. This provides the reference for other industry control communication and has important practical significance.
