Apple-tree precision irrigation system plays an important role in saving water andboosting apple yield. However currently most of the apple-tree precision irrigation systemsmainly use the cable way, which has the shortage of inflexible installation, poor adjustabilityand poor dependability.What is more, in terms of irrigation decision, these systems onlyconsider one or two factors, such as soil moisture, which can not reflect real water demand.Tosolve these problems a precise irrigation control system of orchard based on ZigBee andGPRS is designed.With the apple tree regularity of water requirement in different periods andthe technology of wireless sensor network, this system can make precise irrigation controlcome true. In this system, ZigBee wireless network nodes collect environmental informationin apple orchards and then GPRS network send this information to the remote intelligentcontrol platform.There is a set of intelligent irrigation strategy based on fuzzy control in theplatform.Respectively,this strategy fist calculates the orchard evapotranspiration with thecollected information and then calculate the amount of irrigation by use of theevapotranspiration and soil moisture values via the the fuzzy control algorithm.The mainresearch:(1)The design of irrigation strategy:Based on fuzzy control theory,this strategy takesorchard evapotranspiration and soil moisture as its inputs and water demand as outputswhich is calculated by professor experience and mamdani inference.(2)The design of ZigBee monitoring and controlling nodes: these nodes has the functionof monitoring and controlling simultaneously.Specificly,They can monitor air temperature andmoisture, soil moisture and wind-speed as well as control irrigation device.(3)The design of GPRS gateway coordinator node:this node is made up of CC2530(ZigBee module) and SIM900A (GPRS module) and has the function of ZigBee dataaccumulation and the communication of ZigBee net and GPRS net.Based on ZigBee and GPRS, this system has the advantages of low power consumption,low cost of ZigBee as well as the advantages of wide coverage, and high communicationreliability of GPRS. In terms of irrigation decision,this system takes multiple factors such assoil conditions, weather conditons and physiological characters of apple tree intoconsideration.Through testing and deployment,it proves that this system basically completed the actual demand of agricultural production.
