"Nanning and ASEAN" is the first comprehensive magazine-format news program concerning ASEAN subject made by a municipal television station in China. The program shows all aspects of information about the intercourse between Nanning and ASEAN, as well as the current political affairs, economy, culture, fashion, and etc. of ASEAN member countries, with the aim of publicizing the close relationship between Nanning and ASEAN, strengthening and promoting bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation and exchange. It satisfies the needs of bilateral audience of Nanning and ASEAN with authoritative reports and diversified perspectives of coverage.Taking the program as the subject of case study, the thesis gives all-round, systematic and deep analysis to "Nanning and ASEAN", using the method of literature research and content analysis, and based on author's on-the-spot investigation into the program and the experience of taking part in its programming in person.The first part of the thesis firstly introduces the development course of "Nanning and ASEAN" briefly, in order to provide an overall view of the program, and secondly gives all-round analysis and investigation to the program, summing up its advantages and finding out its bottleneck in development from the perspectives of regional social situation, especially cultural background, the program itself and its related factors, etc, with the aim to accurately grasp its law of development. The second part comes up with a relatively objective, rational and scientific prediction of the future development of the program, based on the references related with "Nanning and ASEAN" that the author has collected, analyzed and sorted. The third part raised feasible strategy for the development of the program, grounded on its actual conditions, the successful experience of relevant TV programs and the development trend of TV programs.
