Toward The Professional Journalism: Peking University And Journalism Theories Of Modern China (1918-1925)

This paper focuses on the shape and expansion of the modern journalism theories. From the beginning, the Journalism Association of Peking University was created as the professional association for developing journalism theories of modern China. It is the aim of this paper to understand how the journalism became professional and academic under the influence of the association. Then, we try to understand in what way the persons of the association developed the concepts of "professionalism" and applied to the journalism, as well as the journalism became academic.The research main purpose, first, then is hoped penetrates Peking University how completes gradually the journalism systematic work, causes this discipline to change gradually the specialization; Second, journalism theory and the capable person which proliferates by Peking University, also how within the boundaries of China the university, displays its influence, causes the technicality news department; Third, specialized and do the institute between relations, in the Chinese modern newspaper industry history, how both develop, and how proliferates its influence; Fourth, in the Chinese newspaper industry history, how does the newspaper industry concern by one-sidedness "the public opinion" to move towards "the public opinion to awaken greatly"...
