Optimization Research On Evaluation Index System Of Chinese Academic Journals

Academic journals are very important references source for research workers while doing research. Since the 21st century, academic journals of various fields in our country flourish, numerous Chinese academic journals come into being, and of course there are good ones and bad ones. So, In order to provide researchers a list of relatively outstanding journals to help them easily find good references that they need, and at the same time supervise the journals' quality control, to evaluate and rate the journals seems very necessary.The study of journal evaluation appeared in the 20th century 30s overseas, and domain scholars began the same research about 30 years later. Through years'theory study and application both at home and abroad, scholars gain a series of significant achievements. Nowadays, most related studies focus on founding appropriate quantitative index system to evaluate academic journals. Along with the journal evaluation practice being carried out, the index system is developed and fixed time and time again, the earliest 2 or 3 indicators was added to 20 more. I think this change of index system is very reasonable, because the development of Chinese academic journals shows some new trends, such as digitalization, networking and complication of subject classify, so the evaluation index system should be optimized to suit them.This paper mainly discusses about the optimization of the index system for the evaluation of Chinese academic journals. Firstly, through literature research on the existed popular domestic journal evaluation practices and the index system they applied, the paper concludes that there are kinds of optimization method of the journal evaluation index system, including evaluative dimension perfection, indicator choosing, indicators'correlation elimination and so on. Based on this, the paper does detailed discussion about the most important indicator, influence factor, declares that some other synthetical citation indices could be used combined with influence factor to make up the defects of the influence factor, and did data verification. This paper also brings up a totally new journal evaluation dimension-"academic innovation degree of journal", discusses about its rationality and evaluation method. At the end of the paper, it uses the index system of "the report of academic influence of chinese journals in humanity & social sciences" which is relatively perfect as an original version, applies the research results above to it and forms a better framework of evaluation index system of Chinese academic journals.
