Research On The Influence Of Books From The Perspective Of Academic Credit Evaluation

Books are important knowledge carriers that bear the role of cultural exchange and inheritance.They often embodies the author's unique insights and innovations,as well as the knowledge contributions of other scholars.Reading books is an important way to systematically understand the content of a subject or field.However,due to the influence of paper-based form,length,property rights protection,and homogenization of books,books are difficult to fully utilize in the process of knowledge exchange and dissemination.Especially in the current era of information explosion,readers have adapted to the "fast food culture" provided by new media and user-operated media.Therefore,how to quickly and easily find high-value books has become an important reason for restricting readers' use and absorption of books.According to literature research,the academic community has explored a variety of methods to evaluate the academic quality and influence of books.Citation analysis is an early and more extensive quantitative method applied to book influence evaluation,although it reflects the popularity of books in the academic world,neglects the quality of books.This paper intends to use the academic credit evaluation theory and apply the citation data,consider the cited behavior as the credit evaluation of the book,use the academic status information of the scholar to mark the book,and combine the h-index calculation method to propose Z-index of books to evaluate the influence of the book,then build a book influence research model based on academic credit evaluation theory.This paper takes library and information science as an example to mine high-value books,and verifies the evaluation results from the perspective of academic influence and social influence,explores the application value of the model and the influence of books in library and information science.This paper finds several conclusions through empirical research.(1)The model has certain application value,can accurately evaluate the academic status and influence of books in the field,and explore high-value books,which can provide reference for the evaluation of book's influence in other disciplines.(2)There are a large number of books in library and information science,and its influence has spread to the fields of economics,education,medicine,management,etc.,but the number of high-impact books is little,especially for originality and practical application.It mainly includes research on topics such as libraries of all kinds,metrology,philology,and competitive intelligence.Emerging hotspots such as big data,knowledge measurement,intellectual property,and information ecology have occasional monographs,which have not yet formed a broader impact.(3)The duxiu's collection of high-Z index books are relatively good,and there is a correlation between the Z-index of books and the collection situation.At the same time,high-Z index books have higher coverage in winning awards,but because the threshold of the book award is higher,not all books are eligible for awards.In addition,although the academic book review value of high-Z index books is relatively high,the number of book reviews is small due to factors such as the professionalism and thickness of the books,and the level of knowledge of the evaluators.(4)The academic and social influence of books in library and information science needs to be further improved.In the future,the core values of academic books should be disseminated from the aspects of constructing professional book databases and comprehensively utilizing new media and traditional media.
