Agriculture is a very important industry in our country. the management level and productivity of agricultural production must be improved because of the limited land resources and the growing population. In most part of China there has been few science and technology factors invested in agriculture, additionally the field management is backward. All these matter seriously hampered the improvement of crop production. Most of the time more experience is needed to judge the growth of crop and the status of land. That lead to the bad hold of the crops and the parameters of the crops' surrounding environment. At the same time, because of the distance and other reasons, the status of crop growth environment can not be timely grasp. Resulting the output can not be greatly improved, it is incompatible with modern agricultural production.The wireless sensor networks is the convergence of sensor technology, micro-elec-tro-mechanical systems technology, wireless communications, embedded computing technology and computer networks. The achievements in wireless communications and digital electronics today have made the sensor nodes get the features such as low-cost,low-power,small in size and communicate untethered in short distances. Combined with the problems of agurculture, propose a wireless sensor network to field management program, which is use to solute the drawbacks that can not timely and accuratly observed the growth of the crop. The application of this system can make agriculture production more modern and intelligent.The main idea of this paper is that the terminal nodes send the parameters of soil and air to the cluster node through the wireless network, then the cluter node classifies and stores the data, and provide the result for user to qury. The system has two part: terminal node for collecting data and cluster node for processing the data. The terminal nodes must work well in case of bad weather. For these reason the terminal node utilize CC2430 module, support by ZigBee protocol and acieve the ONE-WIRE and SID-12 interface. Then connect the sensor of temperature, humidity or conductivity to collect the data. All of the data or command is transmit through the wireless, which is solving the difficult of wiring and cost. The core of the cluster node is powerful PXA270 processor, and transplant the Linux OS to it. Because the task of cluster node is to prosess a mount of data, so it is requested has a strong control and management capabilities, data processing and storage capacity, the system achives the GPRS communication to enable long distance transmission.
