With the extensive application of embedded intelligent video surveillance system in banks, traffic, shopping malls, and communities, the future trend in video surveillance will be more personal and intelligent. Thus it has wide applied prospect that researching and designing home embedded intelligent video surveillance system. The increasing clock frequency and bandwidth leads to many signal integrity problems in high speed digital circuits, bringing a great challenge for hardware design of the system. So as the key to ensure the success of this design, the research of signal integrity in high speed digital circuits has great significance to high-speed system design.The research of this paper fouced on the development of home intelligent video surveillance. A contrast analysis was made on design schemes of embedded video surveillance system and indicated intelligence and wireless would greatly improve efficiency and flexibility of video surveillance. On this basis, functional requirements of home video surveillance were analyzed. The system was designed including function modules, peripheral control circuit and schematic diagrams by using multimedia processor DM6467T. The paper studied signal integrity theory, analyzed signal integrity issues in core circuit board and carried out model-based simulation and a comparative study of reflection and crosstalk. The simulation results were used to guide and optimize the circuit design. To be aimed at power integrity issues, the target impedance of power system was designed with decoupling capacitors and plane modeling. The paper modeled and analyzed signal transmission discontinuity impact caused by plane split and vias, and proposed optimum design and improvement methods to modify circuit design. The actual hardware of the core circuit board was designed last with simulation results based on these studies.The core circuit board was made to capture images, H.264 code and decode, and transmit video data through WIFI wireless network by writing simple application programs. Test results showed that the video surveillance system worked well and the overall design could satisfy requirements of real-time transmission. The combination of theory and simulation in design of power target impedance and improved method of plane split could improve system circuit signal integrity effectively. Practice shows the use of simulation analysis based on signal integrity can analyze and solve signal integrity problems during the design phase, reduce development cycles, decrease development costs and ensure the reliability of high-speed system design.
