Distributed Virtual Reality technology, which is based on Virtual Reality technology, was developed by the introduction of distributed technologies. There is more and more extensive range of applications for Distributed Virtual Reality technology because of its advantages of high-immersive, interactive and low cost. In china, existing ship damage control training system lack the function of achieve all-round, multi-role collaborative training and deficiencies highlighted. Therefore, distributed virtual reality technology used in the field will have very important meaning.Through research there are two kinds of distributed architecture frequently used, which are centralized and replicated structure. But with a virtual training system for ship damage control features, the above two methods cannot solve the problem well. Therefore, distributed structure of the composite approach was designed and implemented based on the two structure. According to demand, the entire system is divided into three main sections, which is director platform, the main cabin and former Deputy cabin. In this system, Director Platform acts as a central server, the former Deputy cabin and main cabin act as a distributed replication server. The required information of client is copied on the distributed replication server. In addition, the problem of information delayed or lost was dealt with by the prediction techniques(DR technology). Meanwhile, according to the needs of users, for the back-end database, the corresponding database table was designed and multi-layer structure of the database is used, that is the mainly dada is on the central server, the specific database table is copied to local database according to the need of client, and the database is synchronized through the network.Trough test in local network, this system solves the problem that existing ship damage control system lacks the function of all-round training for trainees. The availability of virtual training techniques was improved. The all-round group training came true instead of a single individual one before. The ability of operation, command and coordination of the trainers is trained in the same time.
