Spectral imaging technique used in quality control and identify the authenticity of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has advantages of rapid, nondestructive and comprehensive. This paper extensive researched on the development status of spectral imaging system technology, analyzed and compared various characteristics of spectral imaging technology, and proved the feasibility of its application in Traditional Chinese Medicine Assessing. A set of spectral imaging detection system for TCM based on Single-grating polychromator is designed, and the automatic collection, processing relative software is developed.The research of this paper mainly focuses on the development of spectral imaging system and system software design. First, according to the basic principles of push broom spectral imaging system to determine the overall composition of the system, by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different devices, the core components such as light source, motorized precision translation stage, splitters and receivers, and other were selected, selected the order grating as spectral components, optical fiber taper coupling CMOS camera system as receiving device, and finally determined the system composition. System software was mainly divided into two parts of image acquisition, splicing and image processing. By controlling the core components synchronization and linkage, achieve automatic shooting of the spectral image. Processing software is mainly completed the stitching, filtering, catching the effective region of the captured images, afterwards TeeChart activex and the mixed programming of MATLAB with VC were used to draw two-dimensional characteristics spectrum curves and three-dimensional spectral distribution image of Chinese medicine sample, which achieved the effective evaluation of the quality of traditional Chinese medicine.After system testing and experimental comparative analysis, the detection system and software is stable and efficient, realized synchronization and linkage controlling of the system and the automatic processing of images, which has important practical significance in the field of TCM detection with spectral imaging technique, and system improvements were put forward.
