With the issuance of 3G licenses, the three operators are entering the whole business operation phase, facing the business risk of increasing homogenization, The strategic position of 3G services has been more recognized in the industry. As a symbol of 3G services,3G video services will show the broad application space for 3G services, and furtherly stimulate the interest of 3G business users. However, there has not yet been a clear business position and development mode in mobile video services. Therefore, this article will do research on business needs and business model, provide theoretical and data support for mobile operators.Firstly, this paper elaborate 3G video business knowledge. From the technical differences between the mobile communication network and cable network, this paper proposes the technical characteristics of 3G video services, creatively put forward the classification way of 3G video services in an interactive, real-time point of view, and summary the current several major 3G video services implementations.Then, from the perspective of consumer demand, combining with psychology, sociology and economics theories, this paper will do research on mobile video services demand from the user location, consumption and price positioning perspectives, and provide the corresponding development proposal. This paper creatively proposes that there are three factors need to be considered in selecting a technology mode, and give related technology model recommendations, Finally, this paper proposes that operators can choose business model and pricing system for different types of service, choose TD&CMMB correctly, minimize operating costs, and business rates.
