A Study On Digital Library Cross-database Search Technology Based On XML And Middleware

With the development of computer internet and information technology, the establishment of digital libraries is just unfolding. The digital library has various material resources and convenient access and services. However, the readers have to enter into different query system for retrieval (e.g. electronic journal, electronic book, patent, standard, conferences, dissertation and bibliography). Limited by the concurrency, the reader has to wait for a long time before logon, which delays the retrieval and raises the cost. So how to get the needed information with a simpler way has become an immediate task for the establishment of digital library.The thesis provides a new way to solve inter-database retrieval problem of heterogeneous database. Through analyzing the superiority of XML, the typical XML-RDB mapping algorithm, and suggests its data correction, which designed an analysis middleware, The function of query processing and data parse will be realized. Besides, it also provides the running interface and test results. All in all, the thesis integrates the available material resources, brings various database into the inter-database retrieval platform. Therefore, the reader will be more convenient and effective to gain and share information.The theory in this thesis not only satisfies the demand of establishing digital library in Xi'an Medical College, but also meet the demand in other colleges.
