With the development of the Internet information technology, the various database resources have become relatively important sources for people 's query, analysis and decision.So it is the same in the universities. Against the backdrop of universities, there're all sorts of resource databases with various functions in different departments, research institutions and research and project entities. Countless correlation exists between these resource databases. If a unified search and query platform is formed, they can be used for many purposes, such as academic exchanges, thinking reference, business reference, project interaction, theoretical mining and comprehensive discipline research, etc. It's of great significance to construct an unified search platform within the framework of universities.By providing an unified search interface, we can not only relieve users' burden on studying search different data sources, but also lower the threshold for users to search other industries. Besides, concurrent search can save users total search time. Through the results integration, the final result presenting to the users is not only format uniformed but also sorted by uniformed standard, which greatly facilitate users' browsing and choice.Reference to domestic and international famous across-library search systems, the thesis studies and give out a suitable the search portal and cluster for various college electronic resources . the system construct a three level structure with search agent,search task cluster and search library, which support front preprocessing with different policy and visiting different resource libraries. To obtain better search hit rate, find and supplement the synonymous words,association words,collective words of the free words user given. To improve search performance and supplement support library of handling of free words, cache every search results and analyze them again.The subject's main research contents include: research heterogeneous database access adapter and support and realize interoperability; research standardized search request and result to achieve search interface consistency;optimize search process and improve search's ability to be under pressure; improve search effectiveness and hit rate by means of finding and supplementing the synonymous words, association words,collective words of the free words through free word search method ; matching rate computation after the successful search,etc.This author will mainly undertake the whole task of demand analysis in the university electronic resources cross-search system; interface and database design in the systematic design; module implementation in system implementation; all the work of system testing.
