Inter-cell interference (ICI) is one of the important factors that can deteriorate the system performance. Therefore, effective measures must be taken to mitigate ICI to achieve higher peak rate, more efficient power utility, and larger throughput of the cell edge user. In this thesis, the inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) techniques are studied, including the SFR (Soft Frequency Reuse) and FPC (Fraction Power Control) algorithms.Firstly, a novel SFR scheme based on inter-cell coordination is proposed, which can distinguish between cell interior users and cell edge users correctly and efficiently. Simulation results show that our SFR algorithm has a good performance on the system throughput and power efficiency.Secondly, based on the traditional FPC algorithm, an improved fraction power control algorithm combined service area path loss compensation and path loss difference compensation is proposed. Simulation results show that our algorithm outperforms the tradition FPC.
