Interference has been one of the main factors affecting the performance of wirelesscommunications. Due to the different access mechanisms, the sources of interference is different, asa result, relevant interference suppression measures is needed. For LTE communications system,which adopt the OFDM access technology, the interference mainly comes from neighboring cells.Therefore, in order to achieve the performance targets of the LTE system, research effectiveinterference suppression technology to reduce inter-cell interference becomes a serious problem. Toensure the fairness of the cell-edge UEs, Inter-Cell Interference Coordination(ICIC) technology isone of the key technologies to suppress the inter-cell interference, but also a research hotspot withinthe LTE system.In this thesis, we discuss the suppression technology of inter-cell interference in LTE system,focus on the LTE system interference coordination algorithms, and analyse the interferencecoordination algorithm proposed by each company. In addition, the two classical algorithms,namely Fractional Frequency Reuse(FFR) algorithm and Soft Frequency Reuse(SFR) algorithm, areconducted the simulation and analysis. In order to improve system throughput, at the same time,ensure the fairness of the cell-edge UEs, we propose two improved ICIC algorithms combined withthe appropriate scheduling algorithms, including D-JS and DT-JS. These two algorithms caneffectively improve system throughput, and ensure the fairness of cell-edge UEs.In order to verify the feasibility and correctness of the algorithm, Simulation of the twoalgorithms is conducted by the LTE system-level simulation platform based on MATLAB. Theresults show that, D-JS and DT-JS can combine the ICIC technology with traditional schedulingalgorithm effectively, and obtain a good balance between the system throughput and fairness, andsignificantly improve the throughput and spectrum efficiency, to reach the desired goal.
