Universal Serial Bus(USB) is one of the most popular development in PC peripheral interconnect technology since the introduction of serial and parallel in the early's.USB has the advantage of high-speed, hot plug in and play, low price, engrossing less system resource and easy to expand. EZ-USB FX2 of the company of Cypress is the first interface chip of microcontroller with USB2.0. By integrating the of USB 2.0, SIE (Serial Interface Engine), the microcontroller of enhanced 8051 and a programmable external interfaces on a single chip,the products of Cypress establish a the real and efficient solution for the clients to go to the market as quickly as possible. At the same time, FPGA is one of the most widely used programmable ASIC.In this paper, first of all, introduce the architecture of EZ-USB FX2 and related characteristics, and then give a detailed description of data transmission system based on EZ-USB FX2 and FPGA, including the design of firmware, FPGA,the description of USB drivers, and ultimately transfer data with high speed using two kinds of interface mode(Slave FIFO mode and GPIF mode). The research of the system has a very important significance for the data collection with the use of USB and FPGA.
