In recent years, remote monitoring system is playing an increasingly important role in theproduction and living. The demand and requirements of security and on-site monitoring systemin places like electricity, bank and transportation are higher. With the continuous advance ofscience and technology in the gas meter reading system, the traditional manual is inefficient andcan’t meet the needs of advanced enterprise management. At present, the data function ofintelligent meter reading system in our country is simple, far from being able to meet itsintelligent requirement of data service. Therefore, it has a very good prospect to put the remotemonitoring system into intelligent meter reading system and develop an efficient system that hasfunctions such as remote device parameters read, intelligent monitoring and SMS alarm.In order to overcome the disadvantages of traditional remote monitoring system such as lowefficiency, poor reliability, unable to achieve a seamless connection with the upper managementor decision-making, lack of system openness, poor scalability and portability, this paper usesModbus TCP protocol to achieve protocol transparency of remote monitoring system, soequipments from different manufacturers can communicate between various systems. The mainwork and results of this paper are as follows:1. For different requirements on reliability and timeliness of device parameters read andvideo data transmission, the system uses Modbus TCP protocol at the application layer, TCPprotocol at the transport layer to realize device parameters read, and uses RTP/RTCP protocol atthe application layer, UDP protocol at the transport layer to realize video data transmission.2. For the exceptions of Socket communication, the system uses many methods such as openthe TCP keep-alive mechanism, send heartbeat packet, detect3G network before thetransmission of data and automatically reconnect when connect timeout to realize timelyprocessing of the exceptions of Socket communication.3. For different communication protocols of data server and data acquisition device, thesystem uses Modbus TCP to achieve protocol conversion, so data server and data acquisitiondevice can easily communicate. 4. Analyzing multi-threaded processing mode, according to the characteristics of the system,the system uses thread pool technology to achieve multi-threaded processing.5. Analyzing the different characteristics of the messaging technology, the system uses ATcommands of ZTE MC8630module to realize sending and receiving Chinese SMS, when thereis an error in reading device parameters, the system can automatically send Chinese SMS toalarm.6. Determining the MTU of RTP packet, the system realizes RTP packet sending of videodata transmission, and uses RTCP to achieve congestion control.7. Testing the system and analyzing the test results.Finally, summarize this paper and outlook the insufficient and further research of the system.
