As a very effective instrument of surveying and forecasting the disastrous weather, Doppler Weather Radar has been widely applied to our life and brought the far-reaching impact on people?s daily life.This paper focuses on the design and implement of the Doppler weather radar signal processing system, and presents a scheme of signal processing and transmitting which includes an intermediate frequency (IF) sampling module, high-speed data processing module, fiber communication module and high-speed CPCI bus interface. And the high-speed data processing module is made up of FPGA and DSP. This paper completes the hardware system design of this signal processing board, and describes the requirements of the chip selection and the structure of this system; and completes the software development of the system which includes fiber communication module, Link communication module, algorithm implementation and the design of CPCI bus interface. The algorithm focuses on the process including digital down conversion of the collected data and calculation of echo intensity, followed by the application of MTD, with which the average Doppler frequency shift and frequency shift spectrum width can be calculated. Finally, we test the performance of fiber communication module, Link communication module and CPCI bus interface. The results of the performance test indicate that the signal processing board can be applied to the Doppler Weather Radar signal processing system.
