The wide-band digital array radar (WDAR), which accomplishes the transform between digital data and analog signal in the radar array, is the trend of the development of the phased array rader. So, first of all, the research on the structure of WDAR had been carried out.A large number of data are transferred between the array of the radar and the radar controlling and processing equipments. Traditional data transferring system can not meet the requirement. So the optical transferring system will be the best way to avoid the problem. The dissertation is based on the research and development of high-speed fiber-optical data transmission and buffering module, which is used in a wide-band digital array radar laboratorial system. This module belongs to one portion of the radar controlling and processing system. The main goal of the board is to receiving the fiber-optical data which are transferred from the array of the radar. At the same time, these received data are buffered in the memory space of the board for the further use of the system. This board is based on the CPCI bus structure and use ALTERA's FPGA EP1S20F780 as the master chip to control all the peripheral equipments. TI's SerDes chip---TLK2501 and the SFP optical modules make up of 4-channel fiber-optical data receiving paths, which support the transferring rate from 1.5Gbps to 2.5Gbps. The 200pin SO-DIMM memory module is used for data buffering, which can store the data up to 1Gbyte. PLX9054 is used as the PCI bus bridge chip. This dissertation also focuses on the high-speed PCB design. Because there are a large number of high-speed data transmission paths on the board. A lot of rules need to be carried out to ensure the proper transmission of the high-speed data. In the last chapter, the dissertation introduced the development of the interface module in the FPGA, to implement the controlling of the peripheral equipments.
