Automatic meter reading system (AMRS) was completed for data access and transmission of copy, which brings great convenience to water, electricity and gas automation management, fundamentally, overcoming the drawbacks of the traditional manual meter reading manner. The wireless data transmission, owing to its low cost of construction, high transfer rate, has attracted more and more people's attention, which has become an effective complement to wired data transmission.In this paper, based on the GPRS wireless network of remote automatic meter reading system design and implementation methods were studied. Combination of the research and development for remote meter reading technology at home and abroad in recent years, various of meter reading manners are compared, and this paper supplies a compound communication manner with RS-485 and GPRS. The content of this paper includes the following:1. The system uses a single-phase pulse energy meter, which provides pulse train in proportion to electric quantity, and the pulse is acquired, processed, stored by SCM. In order to record the sampling time, it designs a clock circuit, and according to the recordings we can acquire the user's data at a certain time and query the time of wrong data.2. Collector design includes the main controller and its peripheral circuits, including power supply circuit, memory cell, the clock unit and the interface circuit. The main control circuit uses 8-bit CMOS MCU AT89S52 of ATMEL company, which is low-power, high-performance, using to complete data collection, storage and communication functions.3. Concentrator design includes the main controller, power supply circuit, memory cell, the clock module, GPRS module and interface circuit. In order to achieve GPRS communications, installed modules-MC55 GPRS wireless module in the concentrator.4. The software design of the energy meter periphery hardware system, collector and concentrator includes the clock process, reading and writing clock process, application protocol, the receiving/executing process of the collector, meter reading process of collector, AT command and GPRS communications process.The system realizes the data's automatic transcription for the remote monitoring center, which has Characteristics with low power consumption, low cost, simple. scalable, extensible and so on. Innovation of this thesis is the ability to record and store the real-time electricity information of the users, according to this information, you can find out the manner of stealing and shorting electricity in a very short period, and adding FRAM to realize high frequency of reading and writing.
