Automatic meter reading is a method of reading and processing data automatically with computer and communication.It is the requirement of improving the automatic level of energy consumption,and the necessity of rapid development of computer and communication technology.It may not only relieve the labor's intensity, reduce man-made mistake,but also greatly improve the efficiency and real-time performance of reading meter data.By analyzing the current situation of Auto Meter Reading System at both home and abroad and associating the actual situation in our country,this paper designs a concentrator which was part of the AMRS.The structure of AMRS and the function of its constitution were both presented in this paper.By analyzing the constitution of concentrator's hardware and studying the relative knowledge,this paper designs both the hardware schematic diagram and Printed Circuit Board.The author studies the code ofμC/OSII operating system and the knowledge of ARM processor,and then transplants theμC/OSII operating system under Keil for ARM compile environment.Both the relative hardware driver and the API of communication protocols were designed in this paper,and by that the software run platform was established.With this platform,this paper designs the application program of concentrator.The design of communication with General Packet Radio Service and Public Switched Telephone Network were both presented in the part of design of application program,and the program of automatically search relay and automatic reading meter data were also introduced in this part.This paper adopts modular design both in the process of hardware and software design. It makes the concentrator much easier to be maintained and debugged.Commnication with PSTN,GPRS and RS485 were all integrated in the design of concentrator in this paper.That greatly improves the flexibility of commnication,and makes concentrator more adaptable to practical application.In this paper,hardware platform of concentrtor was designed with three parts:power supply and communication with power line,main control panel and communication module.With the software platform ofμC/OSII operating system,concentrator can handle mulity task,and this greately improves the management capacity.The dynamic IP address assignment makes concentrator unable to locate the IP.In order to solve this problem,this paper uses GSM to send SMS which contains the IP address and other communication parameters to concentrator;this greatly improves the flexibility of GPRS connection,and in this communication mode, server in management center do not have to keep on line all day long,so efficiency of management center was improved.
