Construction Of The Crisis Management System In A University Library

University crises, in the crisis-stricken social context, occur frequently. Among a large number of researches on the management of university crises, the researches on the management system of the university library crises, especially those empirical researches, are insufficient. Of all the researches into the library crisis management, the researches on the university library, which is an important type, particularly highlight the need for the further research.Based on the comprehensive and systematic exploration of the characteristics of the university library crises, this paper cites one university library as a sample, analyzing its current situation and the problems of its crisis management. This paper attempts to set up its crisis management system and explore the strategies which can promote the implementation of the library crisis management. The theoretical significance of this paper lies in enriching the basic theory about the university library crisis management, describing the characteristics and types of university library crises and expanding the theory and its application based on a crisis management model. Practical significance of this paper lies in increasing the crisis awareness of librarians and promoting library crisis management culture. Thus, for university libraries, an integrated management can be realized; a sustainable development can be achieved; social benefits can be optimized.This paper interprets the definition of the crisis, which can serve as the logical starting point for discussion, and introduces the various definitions of library crisis management. The paper classifies the library crises and the university library crises as well; the paper summarizes those characteristics of the university type. The paper conducts a study of one university library including its general situation, an overview of safety management, human resources situation, the marginalization of the university library. The paper focuses on the construction of the crisis management system, from the perspective of time sequence of pre-crisis, during the crisis and the post-crisis. Last but not least, the paper offers several solutions to the problems the university library is faced with, including the increase of the awareness of crisis, solving talent crisis, service crisis and security crisis etc.
