The electrical device, equipped in vehicles, improve the amenity and security when our driving. This equipment, include Electronic Stability Program(ESP), Antilock-Braking System(ABS), light control, gear control, opening door control, Digital Instruments System, etc. The central part of these electrical equipment is ECU which collect data respectively and control device. All of these ECUs can share the data through a CAN Network and control device according to the data and user request. In this thesis, we adopt the SOPC scheme which is based on FPGA tecnology, realize a design for ECU of Digital Instruments System with CAN Network function. In this design, we use NiosⅡas the CPU and use VHDL language to design an CAN controller IP core, according to the CAN bus protocol. The NiosⅡwill control the CAN controller IP core and othe functional IP core, display controller IP core,PIO, SDRAM controller for example, with AVALON BUS, then, we can complish the SOPC platform for ECU of Digital Instruments System. Based upon this SOPC platform, we achieve the collecting of multi-channel temperature, and the temperature data can share with other CAN node stablly by the CAN NETWORK.After test, we prove that the CAN controller IP can Realize the Functions of CAN controller chip. Further more, compare with the traditional scheme, MCU+CAN controller chip, the SOPC scheme is more flexible and more integrated, which makes our ECU smaller and more power-efficient.
