Design And Implementation Of An Automatic-test Tool For Wireless Network Device Based On SNMP Protocol

The rise of wireless networks has brought the popularity of wireless network device, such as AP, WNIC now have a large number of applications to many domestic enterprises.Wireless Network Testing Research and Development of automatic-test tool for ensuring the quality of wireless network equipment is significant.Many domestic small and medium enterprises still use manual testing methods. So there is an urgent need to design an automatic-test tool which can make the testing more efficient. In order to achieve unified management, from AP to the wireless router almost all modern wireless network devices support the SNMP management, so the application of SNMP is essential while testing.The design is enlightened by the laboratory test environment using test automation ideas. This paper introduces wireless network devices and automatic testing background, gives the basic principles of designing the automatic-test tool for wireless network device and SNMP protocol. From the SNMP protocol standards and test content to start, analyzes the demand and the feasibility of the design. This paper points out the general frame, analyzes the design process, makes detailed description of designing method, and gives the important function structures. Using the development platform Visual Studio2005 implements the automatic-test tool. In the practical working environment of enterprise test department, using the tool to test and analyzes the test results to verify its reliability and stability. Completion of the project under the enterprise's actual daily test results, we found that the automatic-test tool improves the test efficiency, speeds up fulfillment of progress in the test project, reduces the testers'subjective errors, improves the test accuracy and coverage, reduces the enterprise's labor costs, has brought substantial benefits to the enterprise.
