The Realization Of Access Point In Broad Band Wireless IP Network

In this paper, we discuss the realization of AP (access point ) which is a functionentity defined by IEEE8O2. 11 protocol. The aim of the research is use the assess point tocorrespond the communication between the wired network and mobile terminal. The rule isthat mobile terminal may be connected with wired network while neither structure of wirednetwork (such as static terminal, route and bridge) nor existing protocol (such as TCP/IP)should be changed.We first introduce the basic concept and principle of wireless LAN, access pointthrough IEEE8O2. 11 and IEEE8O2. 1 lb protocol. And then based on the second-generationwireless net card of Intersil Co., we forward the scheme of the Access Point, and tocooperate with mobile IP software which is up layer we forward the mobile terminalhandoff scheme between cells. Last, I work out the report about performance of the netcard and AP.
