| If enterprises want survive, their products must be able to meet users' needs with high usability, so the most important thing for them is to do more study about user. Behavior research is an important way to study user. During the usability evaluation, researcher often record user behavior, so in these audio and video files there are complete user behavior data, which make our collecting and analyzing users behavior possible.The author tries to analyze the user behavior research methods exhaustively, and at the same time tries to design and develop a user behavior analysis tool based on visual and audio file, It can help the usability engineer to collect and analyze the user behaviors of audio and visual files, then uses different methods to do statistic and Inference, help the engineer to find usability problems. With trials of VARA on some usability evaluation projects, we find that VARA can promote the engineer's efficiency and reduce expenses of evaluation in some degree, also, it can help to find some problems that other tools can not find easily, It is practicable in some degree now.In this thesis, the author summarizes the methods of usability evaluation and user behavior research firstly, and then introduces VARA's design, development and application. In the end, summarizes work of the thesis, and gives some advice to VARA in the future.
